emotional eating

If you’ve ever found yourself caught in the cycle of dieting, restricting, overindulging and then feeling guilty, you’re definitely not alone.

We’re running a 6-week Emotional Eating Group designed to help you:

Understand your personal relationship with food

Learn techniques to manage emotional eating

Build a healthier, more balanced mindset

Connect with others who understand

This is a small, supportive group (10-12 people) run by experienced therapists Sue Crossland and Jill Ulman, who bring over 40 years of combined experience in therapy and group work.

This isn’t about diets or restriction, it’s about emotional healing and developing a sustainable,
compassionate relationship with food.

Starts: Saturday 3rd January

6-week group | 9:30am-12:30pm

Cost: £450 for the six weeks programme

The YOYO Dieting Pattern

emotional eating

Diets only work short-term as the focus is on restricting what you eat. You start to lose weight, but your body can't maintain the restriction, it craves food, so you then overindulge, feel bad and guilty, so go back to restricting and the cycle starts again.

Slimming clubs can be great, meeting other people, keeping you on target. Some people find the weekly weigh in helpful; some find it embarrassing or shaming and judging. Many people find that once they hit their target, they stop restricting so end up putting the weight back on, and invariably, more besides. This can then kickstart the miserable cycle of restricting and over-indulging, reinforcing the negative emotions around food.

You can change your diet, but it's very difficult to sustain it unless you change your relationship with food and emotional eating. We aim to give you the individual knowledge, tools and support to make sustainable changes, without judgement.
